My name is Georgina Dowden. I am a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), living in Ballina in the beautiful Northern Rivers of NSW.
I am also the mother of two beautiful children.
My passion for helping to guide parents on their journey was nurtured by my main mentor, who also happens to be my father, Dr Howard Chilton (neonatologist/paediatrician and author of the books 'Baby on Board' and 'Your Cherished Baby').
It is through working closely with him that I have learnt the importance of caring for babies responsively, with empathy and gentleness. This knowledge has shaped my own experience of parenting, and allows me to help other new parents adjust to the challenges that a new baby can bring to the family.
My practice is based on a very simple philosophy: babies' needs are important and understanding those needs empowers parents to feel confident in following their hearts and their instincts.
Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing mothers and fathers enjoy their baby, and enjoy the journey of parenthood.
This is why I do what I do.
